Botox Anti Wrinkle Treatments Over 1,000 cases treated over 5 years.
Wrinkle Reduction is one of the most common and highly-demanded treatments today. Wrinkles on our skin are caused due to various reasons that includes loss of elasticity of skin, sun damage, smoking, sleep position and, most importantly, facial expressions. The repetitive squeezing of the skin caused while smiling, frowning or other facial expressions cause the skin to get wrinkles.
When attempting to look more beautiful and reduce the appearance of age, wrinkle reduction is something that many people opt for.
What is botox?
Botox is a non-surgical treatment for wrinkle reduction using a protein that helps in reducing or eliminating frown lines, forehead wrinkles, crow's feet, etc. Botox blocks nerve impulses and causes facial muscles to relax and contract. One of the key advantages of wrinkle reduction using Botox is that the treatment is fast and simple without any downtime.
Which Wrinkles should be treated with Botox?
Botox is particularly effective for the reduction of forehead lines, frown lines, grooves over the bridge and crows feet next to the outer corner of the eyes which show up when you smile or grimace. These wrinkles are caused by the underlying facial muscles and would not just make your face wrinkled, but might also cause headaches.
Who would benefit most from Botox treatment?
Both men and women can use Botox for wrinkle reduction. Botox is most effective for wrinkles caused due to over active muscles and the treatment stops those muscles from contracting and thereby causing the wrinkles. Besides wrinkle reduction, Botox can also be used to treat Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), neck areas, smokers' lines and even to uplift your smile.
How long does it take to reduce wrinkles by Botox?
The treatment in most cases would take between 10 to 20 minutes. You will start to see wrinkle reduction within 48 to 72 hours although it might take up to 10 days to show the full effect of the treatment. Approximately two weeks after the first treatment, the effects will be reviewed with your practitioner and any further treatments or top-up dose of Botox can be discussed.
Dr Harry Singh explains Anti wrinkle treatment:
Is Botox painful?
Very tiny needles are used and only a small amount of Botox is administered. As a result, any discomfort is usually minimal and short lived and there is almost no pain. Local anaesthesia is also not required.
Are there any adverse effects of wrinkle reduction?
Thousands of people have been using Botox for last 15 years for treatment without any serious side effect and it has an excellent safety record.
In a small number of cases there may be some localised bruising, slight swelling, or redness at the site of the injection. This usually disappears very quickly and can be covered by applying makeup to this area.
Does the effect of Wrinkle Reduction look artificial?
No, unlike some surgical facelifts, Botox treatment is very specific and works only on those muscles that are involved in producing the facial lines that you want to reduce. Other muscles remain unaffected and your usual facial expressions remain the same.
How long does the effects of the treatment last?
The effect of wrinkle reduction by Botox treatment would typically last for 3 to 4 months. A gradual fading effect is observed and at this stage you can consult the doctor if you would like another treatment. With repeated treatment the effect lasts longer.
