Dr Singh who runs his botox clinic in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, in his latest blog talks about botox and the aftercare.

Botox® has been coined in the press as a lunchtime miracle treatment. To some extent, they are true, the botox procedure is a very quick treatment, which can only take a few minutes.

You will normally have a bit of redness and swelling where the botox injection has been, but this will last no more than 20 minutes.

However there are some specific advice you need to follow after the botox treatment.

The most critical is no exercise for the next 12 hours. Botox® is known to spread and any vigorous head movement within 12 hours could potentially cause the botox to travel to an unwanted area and cause certain side effects.

The same applies to no head or face massage treatments.

Botox® is known to dehydrate the body. So to avoid any headaches this may cause, we would advise to drink a couple of litres of water for the next 12 hours following on from your botox procedure.

Apart from that you can wash your face and put on make up after the botox treatment, as long you use gentle pressure. After the initial 12 hours following on from the botox treatmewnt, you can continue with normal daily activities.
