Dr Singh who runs his botox clinic in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, in his latest blog talks about botox and when it is not suitable.

The majority of new patients that seek botox treatments are suitable and have realistic expectations for their treatment. However there are certain cases when botox may not be suitable for a particular patient.

For example, botox works on motion lines. These are lines that appear when you carry out facial expression, such as frowning, raising your eyes or smiling. If you have lines at rest and when you carry out a facial expression and nothing happens to that line, then in most cases, botox would not be suitable for you.

Botox®, in addition does not remove lines. It will soften lines and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. If you want no lines, then botox will not be suitable.

If you have an important function, such as a wedding or birthday within a week and want botox to improve your appearance or soften your lines, then botox would not be suitable. For the majority of patients botox will take anything between 5 and 10 days to work.
