Many patients may originally visit us for botox treatments and this in the majority of cases is the best choice for them. However there are some that botox is not suitable whether this is due to cost or another reason. This does not mean that we cannot offer something of value to them to improve the appearance of their fine lines and wrinkles. One thing to consider is that botox alone may not give the desired result and that they may need extra procedures to achieve their goal.

For example, what we do is, when people have three areas of of botox which is for the forehead, frown and eyes. They may also benefit in having botox injections in other areas of their face such as smokers lines, bunny lines, etc.

Then there is the cross-sell. This is where is you talk about a different services in addition to the botox treatments. So if they came for botox treatments, then you can talk about, if you’re a dentist, teeth-whitening which will complement your botox treatment. Also if they came for loss of volume, as a dentist in the privilege position, we can look in their mouths, see if there’re any gaps, and talk about implants or bridges to restore those caps which will help them for some lost volume.

Then finally there is a down-sell is where they came in maybe for a consultation for botox, but decided not to go ahead with it, and then you can offer them something of a lower price, for example, some sun protection. Say, “Okay. You’ve got some fine lines and wrinkles. Here. If you’re not too sure about botox treatments at the moment – it may be something that you consider later on, it’s important, vital and critical for your skin to have adequate sun protection and this is what we recommend.”
